2019 Lexus RC pricing and specs

Updated luxury coupe arrives in Australia with fresh looks and more kit for minor price increase.

Lexus Australia has detailed the facelifted 2019 RC line-up, with the refreshed range kicking off at $66,174 plus on-road costs.

For 2019 the RC gets a revised look, including new re-styled LED headlights, updated bumpers, a new-look 'spindle' grille mesh pattern, new alloy wheel designs, and side mirrors from the flagship LC coupe.

Underneath the skin, Lexus has made adjustments for improved ride quality and handling, in the form of new shock absorbers and stiffer suspension bushings. The company says it has also improved the aerodynamics of the vehicle to improve stability and air flow.

In terms of equipment, the entry-level RC300 Luxury ($66,174) and RC350 Luxury ($69,874) now get blind-spot monitoring with lane-change alert, automatic wipers, cornering lights, and new side mirrors with a "wider field of view" along with auto-dimming and memory functions.

There's also "larger and higher" knee pads on either side of the centre tunnel, a new analogue clock (borrowed from the LC), a new 'brushed' trim for the heater and audio control panels, and the option of a new Sparkling Meteor blue metallic paint.

Carryover specification includes 18-inch alloys, leather-accented upholstery, heated and ventilated front seats, electrically-adjustable front seats with memory, power steering column adjustment, keyless entry and start, satellite navigation, a 10-speaker audio system, parking sensors, eight airbags, and a front performance damper.

All models include the Lexus Safety Sense+ suite, which includes autonomous emergency braking with pedestrian detection, adaptive cruise control, lane-departure warning with steering assist, along with auto high-beam.

Stepping up to the F Sport (from $74,529) brings new 10-spoke 19-inch alloy wheels, LED headlights in 'triple eye' arrangement, automatic high-beam, and Naguri aluminium trim inlays.

The F Sport grade also offers three new trim options – F Sport Flare Red, F Sport Black/Tuscan Sun yellow and F Sport White.

Carryover equipment includes adaptive variable suspension, a 17-speaker Mark Levinson sound system, F Sport steering wheel, sports front seats, a limited-slip differential, along with acceleration sound control.

Pricing for Luxury versions of the RC are up $845 for the RC300 and $1845 for the RC350, while the F Sport models are both $200 dearer than the outgoing models.

As for options, there will be two 'Enhancement Packs' available for Luxury grades. The first adds larger 19-inch alloys, and a 17-speaker Mark Levinson audio system for $1990.

Opting for Luxury Enhancement Pack 2 ($4690) brings the aforementioned specification of Enhancement Pack 1 in addition to a powered moonroof and smart-key card.

F Sport models are available with the moonroof as a $2500 option.
