2019 Infiniti Q30, QX30 pricing and specs

Updated range gets more equipment, fewer variants, sharper pricing.

Infiniti Australia has released pricing and specifications for the upgraded 2019 Q30 and QX30 range, now priced from $44,900 before on-road costs.

Headlining the changes for the new model year is the range-wide standard inclusion of a rear-view camera and DAB+ digital radio – the former a glaring omission in the Q30/QX30 spec sheet at the base level previously.

Infiniti has simplified the line-up for both the Q30 and QX30, with the outgoing entry-level GT models dropped alongside the diesel Q30.

Now, the Q30 is available in just two trim levels – Pure and Sport – while the QX30 is now offered as a standalone Sport variant.

Starting at the bottom, the Q30 Pure remains at the same $44,900 plus ORCs pricing as the outgoing 'Sport' variant.

In addition to the aforementioned rear-view camera and digital radio, standard equipment includes a sports body kit, gloss black mirror caps, dark chrome dual exhaust finishers, a D-shaped leather steering wheel, along with Alcantara/leather upholstery.

Tech-wise, adaptive LED headlights with high-beam assist, lane-departure warning, and traffic sign recognition – autonomous emergency braking, however, is reserved for the top-spec model.

Stepping up to the flagship Q30 Sport (pictured in grey) brings the ticket to $46,888 drive-away, representing a $6000 saving over the previous Sport Luxury's list price – so the drive-away saving is even greater again.

Extra goodies include adaptive cruise control, autonomous emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, rear parking sensors, a 360-degree camera system with moving object detection, along with an automated parking assistant.

There's also a 10-speaker sound system from Bose, dual-zone climate control with rear air vents, leather-accented seats, along with driver and passenger seat memory function.

Finally, the QX30 Sport (pictured in white) is priced at $49,888 drive away, a $7000 saving over the outgoing Premium's list price.

Over the Q30 Sport, the QX30 gets new 19-inch alloy wheels, raised "off-road comfort-tuned" suspension, comfort seats with adjustable head restraints, satin chrome roof rails, along with satin chrome skid plate-like treatments.

All versions are powered by a 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine sourced from Mercedes-Benz, making 155kW of power at 5500rpm and 350Nm of torque from 1200-4000rpm.

Drive is sent to either the front (Q30) or all four wheels (QX30) via a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic.

Eight colours will be available: Magnetic Red, Ink Blue, Majestic White, Black, Black Obsidian, Graphite Shadow, Blade Silver and Chestnut Bronze. All hues bar Black Obsidian are metallic, and command a $1200 premium.

The changes aim to improve on the Q30 and QX30's sales Down Under, which haven't been the best of late.

For the month of October just five units across both models were registered, which is up on the four vehicles sold during October 2017 but obviously off a low base.

However, the line-up's year-to-date sales are sitting at 153 units as of October 31, which is 22.3 per cent down on the 197 vehicles registered at the same stage in 2017.
