2019 Nissan Murano revealed in Los Angeles

Nissan North America has debuted the updated 2019 Murano at the Los Angeles motor show this week, alongside the updated Maxima sedan.

Like its sedan-bodied stablemate, the new Murano gets a range of cosmetic, technology and trim upgrades to give it a more upmarket look and feel, along with the wider availability of Nissan's Safety Shield 360 driver assistance technologies.

Compared to the outgoing model, the 2019 Murano gets a 'more pronounced' V-motion front grille, redesigned LED headlights and tail-lights, new LED fog-lights, revised alloy wheel designs, and three new exterior colours – Sunset Drift Chromaflair, Mocha Almond Pearl, and Deep Blue Pearl (pictured).

Inside (above), there's new semi-aniline leather trim available for the flagship Platinum grade, new trim inserts across the range (including two wood finishers), along with the standard inclusion of rear door alert and driver attention monitoring systems.

For 2019, Nissan is offering the Safety Shield 360 suite as standard on the top-spec Platinum and optional on the one-from-top SL, which includes autonomous emergency braking with pedestrian detection, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, lane departure warning, and reverse AEB. The updated model also introduces second-row side and driver's knee airbags.

All models are equipped with an 8.0-inch infotainment system featuring Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone mirroring, and all are powered by a 3.5-litre naturally-aspirated V6 making 260hp (194kW).

Like the Maxima, the current-generation Murano is currently a left-hand drive only proposition, ruling out for the Australian market for the time being.
