Take a trip through the CarAdvice archives...

People often say “don’t forget where you came from”. Although we’re focused on every new car, every last detail here at CarAdvice, we have an extensive back-catalogue of news stories, lifestyle yarns and reviews.

Here’s a look at what happened on the week of November 27 in years past.

28 November 2016: Toyota Mirai review - quick drive

A quick 15-minute loop on a mix of freeway and suburban roads in eastern Melbourne showed us just how 'normal' the Mirai is to drive - if you can get past the 'creative' exterior design.

I personally haven't had much experience with electrically-powered cars, bar our BMW i3 94Ah long-termer, but other than the crazy exterior design and futuristic interior, the Mirai is surprisingly conventional to drive.

28 November 2015: Kia Cerato facelift revealed in Korea

The newly refreshed 2016 Kia Cerato has been given an official unveiling in its home market today, less than a week since it was spied in a Korean carpark.

On the sedan shown here, those changes include long new headlights that reach back across the front quarter, replacing the larger and rounder units of the current model.

25 November 2014: Mercedes-Benz CLA Shooting Brake revealed

As the name suggests, the CLA Shooting Brake is a conceptual shoot-off from the CLS Shooting Brake and a sleek wagon version of the already familiar CLA four-door sedan.

The Shooting Brake essentially shares the CLA sedan’s footprint (4630mm long, 1777mm wide and 1435mm high), but offers better practicality and 40mm more rear headroom.

27 November 2013: Volvo V60 Polestar revealed alongside updated sedan

The high-performance Volvo V60 Polestar wagon has been revealed and is confirmed to join its updated S60 Polestar sedan sibling in limited markets from 2014.

The duo is powered by a turbocharged 257kW/500Nm 3.0-litre six-cylinder engine that launches both body styles from 0-100km/h in 4.9 seconds and on to an electronically limited top speed of 250km/h.

27 November 2012: Ford Territory hits 150,000 sales

The Ford Territory, Australia's first and only locally built SUV, has reached a sales milestone of 150,000 units.

Ford Australia announced the mark today, eight and a half years after the Territory first went on sale in 2004.

It continues to be one of Ford Australia's most notable success stories, with the local car maker able to amortise development and production costs by basing the large SUV on its Falcon large car. It was still a $500 million project.

28 November 2011: Daimler axes Maybach brand

Mercedes-Benz’s parent company Daimler has pulled the deep-pile rug from under its loss-making Maybach brand, its rival for Rolls-Royce.

The German luxury car maker will discontinue the Maybach brand in 2013, which has failed to match Daimler’s sales expectations and been the subject of persistent rumours since being revived 11 years ago.

25 November 2009: Kia begins production at first US plant

A white Sorento is the first Kia to roll off the production line at the company's new manufacturing plant in Georgia, USA.

Kia hope to produce 300,000 cars per year when at full capacity and employ 2,500 staff. It's also hoped the plant will provide some 7,500 supplier and regional jobs in the local region.

25 November 2008: Mazda 3 hatchback revealed

On the heels of the freshly unveiled sedan version, the new Mazda3 hatch adopts the same characteristics as its sibling with a far more sporty and dynamic design.

Efficiency was a major factor in the research and development process, with Mazda including more economical powertrains, weight saving solutions and 'best in class' aerodynamics.

Now, 10 years on, there's a new-generation Mazda 3 due to be revealed at the Los Angeles motor show later this week. How's that for timing?
