2019 Porsche 911 leaked

Low resolution photos give us our first disguise-free look at the new sports car

Press photos of the new Porsche 911 have been leaked ahead of the car's official debut at the 2018 Los Angeles motor show next week.

From countless spy photos we already knew the next-generation 911, codenamed 992, would feature an evolutionary body. From the even more pronounced wheel arches to the slimmer tail-lights and flush-fitting door handles, it's clearly new, but not too new, if you know what we mean.

Although these photos, which were sent to and published by Jalopnik, have a resolution that's more 1998 than 2018, it's nice to see the new 911 without black tape over its front- and rear-end detailing.

From what we can tell, all three photos are of the new 911 Turbo 4S.

Under the skin, we believe the 911 will once again feature turbocharged flat-six petrol engines behind the rear axle line. The majority of variants will have a dual-clutch transmission, and either rear- or all-wheel drive.

A plug-in hybrid variant is expected to be available for the first time.

While the exterior is evolutionary, spy photos have revealed the interior will be quite a change from generations gone by. Inspired by the Panamera, there's a large touchscreen, digital instrumentation screens, and less button clutter.

With the Los Angeles show set to kick off next week, we won't have too long to wait to find out more about the new 911.
