What would a rally-ready supercar look like?

Ever wondered what a Ferrari would look like rallying? Wonder no more...

Motorsport is all about speed, but that doesn't mean it's the preserve of supercars. Where else could a Toyota Yaris possibly dominate?

The answer is, of course, rally. For decades now, car manufacturers have been taking conventional small cars, and turning them into gravel-slinging pocket rockets complete with spotlights, roll cages and much, much more powerful engines.

You only need to look at past champions to see the trend. Rally icons such as the Peugeot 205, Subaru Impreza and Citroen C4 were all affordable, common cars in their day.

So what if that same rally treatment was applied to some more exotic cars? The answer would likely look something these renderings, commissioned by Budget Direct.

Bugatti Divo Rally Car

The Divo is the $7.9 million, 1,103kW Bugatti designed for agility, rather than outright speed. We're not sure if this is exactly what the designers had in mind when it came to agility – but we want one very much nonetheless.

Ford GT40 Rally Car

Ford's classic GT40 racer has been re-imagined numerous times, both by Ford itself and various kit-car makers. We've never seen one quite like this, though.

Ferrari Portofino Rally Car

While Ferrari has never found success in rallying, we're thinking it should start. After all, if the car looks anything like this Portofino it'll be a winner.

Koenigsegg Regera Rally Car

The Koenigsegg Regera has got to be the world's most exciting hybrid. While it's unlikely you'll see one rallying soon (or ever), that could be for the best, given 2,000Nm on dirt may prove somewhat terrifying.

Lamborghini Aventador SVJ Rally Car

The Lamborghini Aventador SVJ is, for now, the fastest production car to ever lap the Nurburgring. What that means for its hypothetical rally prowess is yet to be seen.

McLaren Senna Rally Car

One of two British cars on this list, the McLaren Senna could well be the ultimate track car. As for rallying, we'll never know...

Tesla Model X Rally Car

All-wheel-drive? Check. Prodigious torque? Check. Just make sure you don't forget to charge it before you start.

Reliant Robin Rally Car

Oh dear. Rock 'n roll indeed.

If you could choose one car to convert to rally-spec, what would it be?
