McLaren Senna GTR spied

Wild track monster looks set to turn the dial up past 11.

Spy photographers have snapped images of what is believed to be a hotter version of the McLaren Senna, which could don the 'GTR' moniker.

Not that the Senna really needed to get any crazier, it's believed this vehicle previews a more powerful and even more focused version of the 720S-based track monster, serving as the newest GTR-badged model after the iconic McLaren F1 GTR of the mid-1990s and the more recent P1 GTR.

Like the P1 GTR before it, the Senna GTR could be reserved for track use only, though this is yet to be confirmed.

Trainspotters will notice the wider tracks front and rear tracks, which in turn have required modifications to the front and rear guards.

McLaren previewed the new halo model with the Senna GTR concept earlier this year, and more recently confirmed the hotter Senna will feature a 607kW/800Nm 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8, along with a more focused aerodynamics package.

For reference, the 'standard' Senna makes 588kW and 800Nm from its 4.0-litre engine.

It's believed the Senna GTR will be limited to around 75 units, and will commence production in the latter half of 2019.
