2020 Audi RS Q3 spied with less camouflage

Styling of performance crossover becomes clearer

The Audi RS Q3 has been spied again, this time in southern Europe instead of the Nurburgring.

More significantly the company has stripped away much of the camouflage covering the doors, pillars, bonnet and tailgate.

The grille and front air vents have a new pattern shared with prototypes of the upcoming RS Q8. We can also see the car's more pronounced side sills, and the two large exhaust tips at the back.

It's thought the new RS Q3 will be powered by a turbocharged 2.5-litre five-cylinder petrol engine similar to the one used in the RS3 and TT RS. In those cars, the five-pot has been tuned to deliver 294kW of power and 480Nm of torque.

We expect all-wheel drive and a dual-clutch transmission to once again be fitted as standard.

Our spy photography agency believes the prototype's wheels are hiding six-piston calipers and large drilled discs, possibly of the ceramic variety.

Australia

With the latest Q3 scheduled to arrive in Australia around the middle of 2019, it's likely the RS Q3 won't be launched locally until either late 2019 or early 2020.
