2019 Mercedes-AMG GT R Pro confirmed for LA debut

Track-focussed model to be revealed alongside an updated range of two-doors sports cars.

The Mercedes-AMG GT R Pro will debut at the 2018 Los Angeles motor show, alongside a revised mainstream range.

The new GT R Pro will be a limited-edition model. The company says it will feature modifications designed to "deliver even more racetrack performance", and builds on the experience gained from its AMG GT3 and AMG GT4 race cars.

In the official 'spy' photo released overnight, we can see the GT R Pro will have a new front bumper with larger air intakes, an even more pronounced front splitter, and other aerodynamic modifications compared to the 'Beast of the Green Hell' revealed at Goodwood last year.

There's no word on whether the new car will have extra any power or torque, or how limited its production run will be, but we'd suggest it'll be a blink and you'll miss it special.

Daimler says it'll also unveil an updated two-door GT range in Los Angeles. The revised cars will have interior and exterior changes to "emphasise the close relationship" with the four-door AMG GT model.
