Lamborghini SC18 unveiled
First one-off customer car developed by brand's Squadra Corse racing arm
The Lamborghini SC18, a special one-off version of the Aventador designed primarily for track and racing use, was unveiled overnight.
Developed by the Squadra Corse, the SC18 has a new "extreme" aerodynamics package including a large rear wing fashioned out of carbon-fibre and featuring three adjustable mechanical elements.
Lamborghini says the front fascia has intakes similar to the ones used by the Huracan GT3 Evo, while the adjustments made to the car's side and rear are inspired by the Huracan Super Trofeo Evo.
Like the company's endurance race cars, the SC18 features 12 air intakes at the back to improve cooling for the engine.
The SC18 is powered by the same 6.5-litre V12 as the Aventador SVJ, meaning it has 566kW of power and 720Nm of torque at its disposal. There's also a new exhaust system, and the company's seven-speed independent shifting rod transmission.
The automaker says weight has been reduced by using lightweight materials, but the savings haven't been quantified. Performance figures haven't been announced, but the SVJ is capable of hurtling from 0-100km/h in 2.8 seconds, and hitting 200km/h within 8.6 seconds.
The SC18 rides on 20-inch wheels at the front, and 21-inch rims at the rear, all with a single nut holding them in place and shod with Pirelli P-Zero tyres.
On the outside, the SC18 features grey paint finished off with red highlights. In the cabin you'll find carbon-fibre bucket seats, and black faux suede with red cross-stitching.
