2016-18 MG ZS recalled – UPDATE

Over 1800 SUVs could have faulty stability control systems.

SAIC Motor has issued a recall for the 2016-18 ZS over concerns about a potential software fault in the Stability Control System (SCS).

UPDATE, 21/11/18: This recall has been expanded. See article for details and an updated VIN list link

The Chinese manufacturer reports affected vehicles could see their stability control fail, decreasing power steering assistance.

If the condition occurs, the steering feel will become quite heavy, and pose a hazard to the driver and other road users.

A total of 1823 units are affected by this notice – the VIN list is available here. These vehicles were available for sale from 1 November 2016 through 30 November 2018.

Owners are advised to contact their nearest MG dealer to arrange the inspection and repair of their vehicle. For more information, contact 1800 642 277 (1800 MG CARS).
