HSV has revealed the Colorado SportsCat R, a limited-edition variant of its Holden-based ute, featuring a number of gloss black and red styling highlights HSV claims will "take the vehicle’s distinctive street presence to another level".
Priced from $65,990 before on-road costs, or $3000 more than the regular SportsCat model with an automatic, the SportsCat R will be offered exclusively in Mineral Black, and features a gloss black grille and lower fascia, along with gloss black 18-inch, six-spoke forged alloy wheels, wrapped in Cooper Zeon LTZ Pro Sports all-terrain tyres.
For those playing along at home, the regular car gets the same wheels finished in matte black, wrapped in the same tyres.
In addition to this, the 'R' gains the '+' model's bonnet bulge and optional sail plane as standard equipment.
The SportsCat R features red highlights on the bonnet bulge, lower grille, sail plane, tonneau and doors, with red HSV decals displayed prominently on the sides of the tub.
Standard equipment otherwise mirrors that of the regular SportsCat, with 'SV' sports seats trimmed in Jasmine leather and Windsor suede, red stitching for the leather-wrapped steering wheel, SportsCat floor mats, and a perforated leather/suede dashboard trim.
The premium AP Racing brake package standard in the SportsCat+ will be available as an option on the base SportsCat for the first time, carrying a cost of $1995.
The SportsCat R will be available exclusively with a six-speed automatic gearbox, and is powered by the same 147kW/500Nm 2.8-litre four-cylinder 'Duramax' turbo-diesel as the wider Colorado range.
Production will be limited to 100 units, with 98 destined for Australia and only two set for the New Zealand market.
