Poll: Porsche 911 Turbo wins inter-generational battle

This week, we're asking whether Mazda is asking a fair price for CarPlay and Android Auto.

The modern Porsche 911 Turbo S Exclusive Edition has beaten out its older, rarer cousin in our latest poll.

Put head-to-head with the recently-auctioned 993 911 Turbo Project Gold, the modern Turbo won 61.6 per cent of the vote. Power in the Turbo S Exclusive comes from a 3.8-litre twin-turbo six-cylinder engine making 427kW and 700Nm.

It's put to all four wheels through a seven-speed PDK transmission, for a sub three second sprint to 100km/h.

Project Gold is very, very different. It's actually a 993 Turbo that's been rebuilt from the ground up, with a new 3.6-litre twin-turbo engine making the same 335kW as the original.

It was auctioned for a terrifying $4.3 million last week.

THIS WEEK'S POLL

Last week, we learned Mazda will charge $495 for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto as a retrofit option. Would you pay for smartphone mirroring, or is the price of entry too steep?

UPDATE: It looks like Facebook is doing silly things with its embedded media, as the poll options are no longer appearing above. For now, if you'd like to vote, head to our Facebook post. Otherwise, stay tuned for the results next week.
