Aston Martin Valkyrie: New images show car nearing production

Subtle changes aplenty, as Aston Martin's hypercar progresses toward production.

The company has provided another sneak peak at the upcoming Aston Martin Valkyrie hypercar via its Instagram feed.

When the company first showed off a "near-production" version of the Valkyrie in July 2017, Miles Nurnberger, the company's head of exterior design, explained the body was "95 per cent of the way there".

In the year-and-a-half since Aston Martin and Red Bull have fleshed out many of the finer design aspects, including the car's alloy wheel design, which can be hidden under the optional aerodynamic carbon-fibre wheel covers seen on the 2017 vehicle.

There are also revised side skirts, and lighting elements in the vent behind the front wheel arch. The blue-to-black paint job is not only eye-catching, but serves to hide some of the car's design details.

The interior design has also been revised slightly with a few extra buttons and more seat padding. Bare carbon-fibre, though, still dominates the cabin.

From late 2019 or early 2020 Aston Martin will build 175 road-going versions of the Valkyrie, with a further 25 track-only models planned.

The Valkyrie will have a hybrid drivetrain dominated by a naturally-aspirated 6.5-litre V12 engine from Cosworth. Reports indicate the Valkyrie will have around 840kW of power on hand.
