People often say “don’t forget where you came from”. Although we’re focused on every new car, every last detail here at CarAdvice, we have an extensive back-catalogue of news stories, lifestyle yarns and reviews.

Here’s a look at what happened on the week of October 30 in years past.

30 October 2017: Ferrari FXX-K Evo revealed

The Ferrari FXX-K has been treated to a comprehensive package of upgrades for more speed, more grip and even less weight. With an aerodynamics package inspired by the full spectrum of motorsport categories, and no road rules or FIA regulations to hold it back, the FXX-K Evo will be available only to the most valued of Ferrari customers.

28 October 2016: Volkswagen Atlas revealed

The company’s most obviously North American-focused vehicle marks a “new chapter” in its history there, as it seeks to make a clean break from the diesel emissions saga.

The full-size crossover will be made exclusively in Chattanooga, Tennessee alongside the US-market Passat. Volkswagen invested 900 million euros in re-fitting the site for the Atlas, which was previewed years ago by the CrossBlue concept.

29 October 2015: Ferrari 488 Spider review

Stunning looks inside and out, a convertible roof, plus a new turbocharged engine, the 2016 Ferrari 488 Spider is pure genius – Alborz Fallah

Three years ago our beloved founder gave the drop-top 488 a perfect score – would you do the same?

30 October 2014: BMW X5 M, X6 M revealed

Once again a 4.4-litre twin-turbo V8 engine sits beneath the bonnet of both, but this version has 423kW on tap between 6000 and 6500rpm, up four per cent. Peak torque is up by 70Nm to a whopping 750Nm between 2200 and 5000rpm.

30 October 2012: Kia Cadenza revealed

The 2013 Kia Cadenza is the latest model in Kia's line-up to benefit from a significant styling overhaul ahead of its introduction to a number of international markets in 2013.

It never made it to Australia, but we reckon the Cadenza would have made a handsome alternative to large sedans of the time like the Ford Falcon and Holden Commodore.

29 October 2010: Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Super Sport review

In the 21st century, being quick is all important. Everything is instant – from the speed a page loads on the internet to taking and printing a photograph or seeing events unravel on the world news channels – human beings have a seemingly insatiable appetite for anything fast. And road cars do not come any faster than this one.

The Veyron Super Sport is, all things considered, the ultimate version of the ultimate car. We may not see the likes of it again.
