Mercedes-Benz Australia has issued a recall for the new-generation A200 over concerns the adaptive high-beam function could malfunction.

According to the German marque, affected units could have their high-beam permanently activated – or not automatically dim – when the Adaptive High Beam Assist feature is engaged.

If the condition occurs, the high-beam may dazzle oncoming road users, posing an accident risk.

There are 1096 vehicles affected by this recall sold from 1 July 2018 through 31 August 2018 – a VIN list is available here.

Owners are advised to contact their local Mercedes-Benz dealer for a free software update, which should rectify the issue.
