Mini Australia has announced another limited-run special in the form of the Countryman Blackheath Edition, which is now on sale priced from $59,990 drive-away.

Just 60 units will be heading Down Under, featuring a range of black-themed add-ons and accessories from the Mini options range as standard equipment. Mini says the special model takes 'inspiration' from Blackheath in south-east London.

Highlights include Midnight Black metallic paint, Midnight Black finishes for the roof and mirror caps, 18-inch 'Pin Spoke' alloys finished in black, high-gloss black roof and side mouldings, brushed black aluminium bonnet stripes, black trim for the headlight and tail-light surrounds, along with black door handles and front grille trim.

There's also black 'Countryman' badging on the tailgate, Carbon Black 'Leather Cross Punch' upholstery, Piano Black cabin inserts, an Anthracite headliner, along with chrome interior accents.

In addition to the black-themed trim and colour bits, the Blackheath Edition comes as standard with some usually optional equipment packages, like the Climate and Multimedia Pro packages – meaning a panoramic sunroof, privacy glass, heated front seats, an 8.8-inch navigation system, 12-speaker Harman Kardon audio system, head-up display and Mini Find Mate Bluetooth tag system are also included.

As per the standard Countryman Cooper S, the Blackheath Edition is powered by a 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine making 141kW of power and 280Nm of torque, sent to the front wheels via an eight-speed automatic transmission.

The Mini Countryman Blackheath Edition is on sale now from $59,990 drive-away – for reference the standard Countryman Cooper S is priced from $48,900 before on-road costs.
