Lexus LFA officially sold out

Toyota has today confirmed that is has sold every one of the 500 Lexus LFA supercars it plans to build.

Around one-third of all the 412kW/480Nm V10 powered coupes will find homes in Germany, after the Japanese brand heavily targeted that market in the promotional stages. Those buyers have already laid down $US125,715 ($150,287) deposits.

Prices for the Lexus LFA started at $US375,000 ($448,300), although US customers have to lease the car for the first two years before earning the opportunity to purchase it outright. Lexus implemented this policy to deter speculator buyers who planned to snap up the limited edition supercars and on-sell them for a profit.

Production of the LFA will begin in December with Lexus to make 20 each month for the following two years.
