Poll: Hyundai i30 Fastback N claims in-house bragging rights

This week, the Peugeot 508 Touring faces off with the Volvo V60

The Hyundai i30N Fastback has comfortably beaten its hatchback sibling in our latest poll, suggesting it'll be a hit when it arrives in Australia next year.

With four doors, a six-speed manual transmission, and a 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbo engine making 184kW/353Nm in standard trim and 202kW/353Nm in Performance guise, we already have a pretty good idea about how the Fastback will drive.

That base mechanical package is, after all, the same you'll get in the hatchback.

Where the Fastback differs from the hatch is the body shape. A whopping 69 per cent of the 1700 people who voted in our poll favoured the sloping-roofed N over its more practical hatchback brother.

Maybe practicality is overrated after all?

THIS WEEK'S POLL

Peugeot last week confirmed it'll bring the 508 Touring to Australia next year. We're still waiting to hear from Volvo whether it'll offer the V60 locally, but they're both a similar size, and they're both similarly slinky. While we're waiting for confirmation, which would you take?

UPDATE: It looks like Facebook is doing silly things with its embedded media, as the poll options are no longer appearing above. For now, if you'd like to vote, head to our Facebook post. Otherwise, stay tuned for the results next week.
