Lexus has added the LX570 S to the local line-up, serving as a new flagship in the luxury off-roader's range.
Priced from $168,089 before on-road costs, the 'S' version of the V8-powered 4x4 is based on the Enhancement Pack specification, and commands a $6500 premium on the vehicle on which it's based.
Headlining additions include a body kit, gloss black 21-inch forged alloy wheels, and a new sports mesh insert for the spindle grille. There's also a new front performance damper which the marque claims "improves body rigidity and steering stability".
Inside, there's semi-aniline perforated leather upholstery in either black or Garnet (burgundy) – the latter exclusive to this variant – along with a new model-specific Shimamoku Grey cabin trim.
Other features include alloy pedals and courtesy lamps in the side mirrors that project 'LX S' onto the surrounding area when lit. Just two colours will be offered – Sonic Quartz and Starlight Black.
Carryover equipment includes the Lexus Safety System+ driver assistance suite, which includes autonomous emergency braking with pedestrian with pedestrian detection, adaptive cruise control, lane-departure warning, adaptive high-beam, a head-up display, along with blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert.
There's also a 360-degree camera system, 10 airbags, heated and ventilated front seats, a heated steering wheel, heated outboard rear seats, a 12.3-inch navigation system, and four-zone climate control.
Power continues to come from a 270kW/530Nm 5.7-litre naturally-aspirated V8, mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission.
During the month of September 24 Lexus LXs found homes in Australia, bringing the year-to-date (YTD) total to 277 units. That's a 20.0 per cent increase on the same month last year, and 10.4 per cent YTD.
