BMW 3 Series: M Performance parts revealed

New-generation 3er showcased with various racy carbon-fibre add-ons and Alcantara trimmings.

Hot on the heels of the reveal of its all-new 3 Series, BMW has unveiled a range of M Performance accessories for its "middle-class limousine".

Like M Performance options available on the company's other models, the range of accessories offered for the new 3 Series not only sharpen up the new 3er's looks, but bring benefits to the vehicle's aerodynamics.

Various titanium and carbon-fibre add-ons are available, along with upgraded brakes, wheel and tyre packages, and sportier interior trims.

Buyers will be able to choose from front splitters, side skirt extensions, rear diffusers, bootlid spoilers, mirrors and a choice of 18- and 20-inch alloy wheel upgrades.

The various body kit parts can be had in high-gloss black or carbon-fibre, while the 20-inch Y-spoke alloys (available in bi-colour, jet black matte or black matte) are reminiscent of the previous-generation M3 Competition rims.

An 18-inch sports braking system too, allowing for higher thermal resistance and are available with red-painted four-piston calipers.

Inside, options include the M Performance steering wheel with Alcantara grip areas, a red 12 o'clock marker, and carbon-fibre inserts. This can be further accented with carbon-fibre shift paddles, and M Performance cabin trim inserts in open-pore carbon-fibre.

There's also M Performance mats with branding and leather-look surround, and LED door projectors showing the M Performance on the ground next to the vehicle.

Complimenting the vehicle accessories is a M Performance key wallet fashioned out of Alcantara and carbon-fibre which can be permanently fixed to the car key with an M light blue socket head screw.

Australia

BMW's local division has confirmed it will offer the M Performance accessories range for the new-gen 3 Series, but cannot offer a timeframe as they are still going through the homologation process.

The all-new 3 Series is due to hit showrooms Down Under late in the first quarter of 2019, indicating a market launch around March.
