Poll: 2019 Audi e-tron lands first blow in EV battle

This week, it's all about the Hyundai i30 N. Fastback or hatch?

They're both electric, they're both German and they're both official – finally. It appears the more conventional Audi e-tron quattro is leading the electric charge, having toppled the Mercedes-Benz EQC in our latest poll.

A handy 66 per cent of respondents to the poll favoured the angular Audi, which is already being produced ahead of a European market launch at the end of this year.

With a claimed range over 400km on the WLTP cycle and a top speed of 200km/h, the e-tron quattro has roundly similar specs to its rival from Mercedes-Benz.

The EQC offers a driving range of 450km on the looser NEDC test – WLTP figures are still to come. It'll be available in the middle of 2019 if you live in Europe, with a local launch likely to come shortly afterwards. A starting price around $120,000 is on the cards, although that could push higher.

THIS WEEK'S POLL

Hyundai has expanded the i30 N range, with a brand new Fastback version. Would you take the four-door coupe-looking N performance model, or instead go for the traditional hatchback?

UPDATE: It looks like Facebook is doing silly things with its embedded media, as the poll options are no longer appearing above. For now, if you'd like to vote, head to our Facebook post. Otherwise, stay tuned for the results next week.
