2019 BMW 3 Series Hoffmeister kink revealed

Key styling details gently evolved for next-generation sedan

A few more design details of the new BMW 3 Series were revealed overnight ahead of the car's launch at the 2018 Paris motor show, which starts next week.

In an Instagram story, the company has shown off the critical new sedan's grille, front wheel arches, C-pillar treatment, and parts of the cabin.

The seventh-generation's Hoffmeister kink is more angular than on today's model, while the company's double kidney grille has fused together to become one unit

Riding on a version of the CLAR platform, which is shared with the larger 5 Series, 7 Series and 8 Series models, the new 3 Series is claimed to be around 55 kilograms lighter than today's car.

Improved body rigidity, wider tracks, 10mm lower suspension and other changes are said to have made the new car a better drive.

A wide variety of engines will be available, including the new 225kW/450Nm turbocharged 2.0-litre four-cylinder, which made its debut recently in the X2 M35i.

As is the norm, the new 3 Series will be offered with the company's latest safety technology, and infotainment units. The new generation model will also be available with an all-digital instrumentation screen.

The new 3 Series will be unveiled on the morning of Tuesday, October 2, Central European time.
