Nissan Navara Silverline, Black Edition launched

Limited-run variants on sale in October with colour-themed exterior upgrades.

Nissan Australia has launched two special-edition versions of its Navara ute, dubbed the 'Silverline' and 'Black Edition'.

On sale from October 1, the Silverline and Black Edition are limited to 900 units each, and feature numerous cosmetic and equipment upgrades over their donor models.

Headlining the pair is the Black Edition (pictured), priced from $48,690 drive-away. Based on the dual-cab ST 4x4, the Black Edition gets extras like 18-inch black alloy wheels with all-terrain tyres, a black sports bar, black nudge bar, black wheel arch flares, an LED light bar, and a soft tonneau cover.

There's also a protective tub liner, black front grille, black mirrors caps, black fog-light surrounds, a smoked bonnet protector, black body decals, and a mobile phone holder in the cabin.

Carryover kit includes a rear-view camera, LED headlights and daytime-running lights, a 7.0-inch touchscreen with satellite navigation, and a leather-accented steering wheel.

Five colours will be offered – Polar White, Brilliant Silver, Cosmic Black, Burning Red and Slate Grey (pictured) – with 900 examples available nationally as previously mentioned. Premium paint (all colours barring white and red), command a $550 premium.

Meanwhile, the Silverline is based on the lower-tier SL grade, priced from $39,490 drive-away.

Compared to its base car, the Silverline edition gains 16-inch alloys (replacing the standard steel units), a polished alloy sports bar, 'Silverline' tailgate badging, and a mobile phone holder in the cabin.

Equipment carried over from the SL grade includes a 5.0-inch infotainment display, rear-view camera, LED headlights and daytime-running lights, bluetooth and cruise control.

Like the Black Edition, 900 units of the Silverline will be offered nationally. All the colour options available with the Black Edition are also offered with the Silverline specification, bar Slate Grey.

Both special-edition Navaras are fitted with a 2.3-litre twin-turbo diesel engine making 140kW of power and 450Nm of torque, sent to the ground via a selectable four-wheel drive system.

Buyers have the choice of a six-speed manual or seven-speed automatic transmissions. A 3500kg braked towing capacity is also shared between the two special editions.

The Navara Black Edition and Silverline go on sale in Australian showrooms from October 1.
