Audi teases e-tron quattro in new advertising campaign

German marque not leaving much to the imagination in the lead-up to EV's full reveal.

Audi has teased its new e-tron quattro electric SUV once again, ahead of an overnight reveal in San Francisco.

Scheduled to make its official debut in the USA, this advertising campaign is the latest in a long line of teasers and previews for its first series-production electric vehicle.

"Up until now the full promise of the electric car has gone unfulfilled. That’s about to change. This is electric like you have never seen it. This is electric unleashed," Audi says in the video's caption.

We can't help but think the brand is taking a swipe at other EV makers for not successfully normalising the technology.

Final specifications are yet to be revealed, though prototypes and concepts have suggested the production version will develop outputs of 320kW and 800Nm from its dual-motor setup, good for a sub-6.0-second dash from 0-100km/h.

Additionally, the 95kWh lithium-ion battery pack should allow for around 500km of range, and can be charged to 80 per cent in just 30 minutes when hooked up to a fast-charge station.

By comparison, the recently-revealed Mercedes-Benz EQC makes 300kW of power and 765Nm of torque, can sprint from 0-100 in 5.1 seconds, and drive "more than" 450km per charge from its 80kWh battery pack.
