2019 Bentley Continental GT Speed spied

Powered-up coupe spotted during development testing ahead of anticipated 2019 debut.

A prototype believed to be the upcoming Bentley Continental GT Speed has been spied in Europe this week, giving us a first look at what to expect from the hotted-up luxury sports car.

Key differences from the current new-generation Continental GT include blacked-out elements where chrome would normally be, two extra coolers on each side behind the mesh of the front bumper, and different alloys at the rear

Not much else distinguishes this vehicle visually, though it's what's under the skin that really counts.

Those additional intercoolers likely feed air into a more powerful version of the 6.0-litre twin-turbo W12 in the 'standard' Conti GT, with overseas reports claiming the GT Speed will offer between 650-670 horsepower (484-500kW). For reference, the regular Continental's W12 makes 466kW and 900Nm of torque.

Other upgrades will likely include lowered and stiffer sports suspension, new alloy wheels shod in stickier rubber, and subtle aerodynamic changes like a more aggressive bodykit and a rear spoiler for added downforce.

It's believed the Continental GT Speed will be officially revealed some time next year, before hitting the market in late-2019 or early-2020.
