2020 Porsche Taycan spied

New electric sedan spotted with production lights and wheels,

The Porsche Taycan has been spied wearing a little bit less camouflage, and a few more production design pieces.

Although false body panels, printouts and tape obscure the look of the headlight and taillight units, we can see one of the Taycan's production alloy wheel designs for the first time.

As we've seen in earlier spy photos, the Taycan is very faithful to the 2015 Mission E concept, although the roof line has be altered to improve interior room, and ease ingress and egress. The concept's suicide doors have been also been consigned to history.

Porsche has already confirmed the Taycan will be available with a two-motor all-wheel drive setup. With this drivetrain Porsche's first all-electric model will have a total of 440kW of power on tap.

Porsche says the four-door will be able to sprint from 0-100km/h in "well under" 3.5 seconds, and crash through the 200km/h barrier within 12 seconds.

With its lithium-ion battery pack fully charged, the company estimates the Taycan will have a range of around 500 kilometres. The car will be available with wireless charging, and support different fast charging standards, depending on where it's sold.

Connected to a fast charger, the Taycan can be topped up with 400km of range within 15 minutes.

Australia

The Taycan will go on sale in key markets in late 2019, with Australian sales slated to start some time in 2020.
