2019 Ssangyong Tivoli, Tivoli XLV priced from $23,490

Korean brand's smallest offerings arrive in November with standard AEB and CarPlay.

Ssangyong Australia has detailed pricing and initial specifications for the new Tivoli and Tivoli XLV ranges ahead of the brand's relaunch Down Under in November.

Headlining features include the range-wide fitment of autonomous emergency braking with forward collision warning, along with seven airbags, a rear-view camera, along with a touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

Pricing starts at $23,490 drive-away for the entry-level Tivoli EX with the six-speed manual transmission, jumping to $25,490 drive-away with the optional six-speed automatic.

The base model is exclusively powered by a 94kW/160Nm 1.6-litre petrol engine sending drive to the front wheels.

Stepping up to the mid-range ELX offers the choice of petrol or diesel powertrains, the latter a 1.6-litre turbocharged oiler with 85kW of power and 300Nm of torque.

Both the ELX petrol and diesel come with the six-speed automatic as standard, again driving the front wheels. We're not sure at this stage what extra equipment the ELX gets over the base EX.

Finally, the range-topping Ultimate is priced from $33,990 drive-away, and is exclusively offered with the turbo-diesel engine with all-wheel drive.

An optional two-tone exterior package bumps the price up to $34,490 drive-away, offering five different contrasting colour combinations. Like the ELX, we're still waiting on full specifications in terms of standard equipment.

The larger Tivoli XLV (which stands for X-citing Lifestyle Vehicle) is essentially an extended-body version of the base Tivoli, measuring 245mm longer.

With the extra length, Ssangyong claims the Tivoli XLV offers a "capacious" boot area rated at 720L, which in fact is right up there with even the large SUV class.

Compared to the regular Tivoli, the XLV will only be offered in three trim levels.

Like its smaller counterpart, the Tivoli XLV is equipped with AEB, forward collision warning, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, seven airbags, a rear-view camera, along with front and rear parking sensors across the range.

The company has disclosed that the Ultimate specification ($34,990 drive-away) brings leather trim, heated and ventilated front seats, 18-inch alloys and a sunroof over the ELX – and we're assuming the regular Tivoli Ultimate will feature similar items.

Power in the XLV comes exclusively from the 85kW/300Nm 1.6-litre turbo-diesel mated to a six-speed automatic, sending drive to the front wheels in the ELX and all four wheels in the Ultimate.

Stay tuned to CarAdvice for a full specifications breakdown in the lead-up to the Tivoli and Tivoli XLV's launch in November.
