2019 Kia Telluride photographed undisguised

New three-row crossover looks a lot like the concept car

The new Kia Telluride crossover has been spotted completely undisguised while undergoing testing the Middle East.

Thanks to CarAdvice reader Ryan for pointing us towards these photos, which were posted on the Bobaedream forums.

The production Telluride carries over many of the design cues used on the 2016 concept car, including the boxy rectangular shape, rounded corners and surfacing – all of which serve to emphasise the car's size.

Predictably the production vehicle ditches the concept's suicide doors, and adopts proper door handles and larger wing mirrors. Other changes include revised headlights, which have essentially been turned around 90 degrees and are no longer recessed.

Under the skin, the Telluride will share its platform and mechanical package with the upcoming Hyundai Palisade, which will share much of its styling with the HDC-2 Grandmaster concept.

Both of these vehicles will sit at the top of their respective crossover ranges, and are expected to measure around five metres from head to tail and feature three rows of seating.

Australia

At the beginning of the year Kia Australia confirmed to CarAdvice it has told headquarters of its interest in the Telluride. At the time, though, it still wasn't clear if the vehicle would be available in right-hand drive, with the USA being the car's key market.
