Rolls-Royce Ben Sloss Dawn Black Badge revealed

Eye-catching bespoke convertible owned by tech executive debuts at Pebble Beach.

Rolls-Royce has revealed a very unique Dawn Black Badge at the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance, commissioned by a wealthy Silicon Valley executive.

Sporting an eye-catching navy-on-yellow paint scheme, the livery of the bespoke convertible is said to be inspired by owner Ben Sloss's race cars – which carry the colours of the Modena flag, a city in northern Italy.

"I wanted to see what Rolls-Royce could do with those same colors," Mr Sloss said.

"The first time I saw the livery the Rolls-Royce team had created for the Dawn, I burst out with 'Oh my God, that's unreal – I love it!!' It’s outrageous, it’s over the top... it's perfect. I still grin every time I see it.”

Rolls-Royce has dubbed the bright yellow hue 'Superflare' due to its "radiance under the Californian sun", while the contrasting dark navy has been named Pikes Peak Blue after Mr Sloss's interest in the iconic hillclimb event.

Other exterior features include 21-inch alloy wheels constructed out of aluminium and carbon-fibre, which also feature flashes of Superflare yellow.

Inside, the theme continues. The seats, dashboard, tonneau cover and rear seat 'waterfall' are trimmed in Navy Blue leather, accented by Bright Yellow seat piping, RR headrest logos, door trims, steering wheel highlight, and pinstripe across the Piano Milori Blue wood dashboard.

Rounding out the cabin elements is a Navy Blue leather trimmed Aero Cowling that encloses the rear seats.

On another note, we can't help but draw comparisons between the Ben Sloss Dawn Black Badge and Nissan 370Z N-Sport (above) – we don't think Mr Sloss or Rolls-Royce would appreciate such a comparison though...

Power in the Rolls-Royce Black Badge comes from an updated version of the company's 6.6-litre twin-turbo V12, tuned to deliver 442kW of power and 840Nm of torque, sent to the rear wheels via an eight-speed automatic transmission sourced from ZF.

Rolls-Royce claims the 2.5-tonne drop-top Black Badge can hustle from 0-100 in 4.9 seconds, on its way to an electronically-limited top speed of 250km/h.
