2019 Mercedes-Benz EQC teased

Mercedes has revealed the full-width taillights of its upcoming electric crossover.

The Mercedes-Benz EQC has been teased again, ahead of its launch on September 4 in Sweden.

While an earlier teaser revealed part of the headlights and grille, this latest sneak peek – revealed overnight on the company's social media accounts – gives us a clear, if somewhat dark, view of the car's rear-end.

Like the Generation EQ concept, the EQC will have a set of tail-lights stretching the entire width of the car's rear, even though their shape and execution differ between the concept and production vehicles.

Our latest batch of spy photos, taken just a few weeks ago, revealed a car which looks to be a clear descendant of the Generation EQ, albeit with a more traditional grille setup, as well as conventional door handles and wing mirrors.

The EQC will be the first major production vehicle to be launched as part of Daimler's assault on the electric vehicle market, all of which will all bear the EQ sub-brand. Given the car's C suffix, the car will be roughly the same size as the GLC crossover.

Details about the car's drivetrain has yet to be revealed, but the concept car had electric motors generating a total of 300kW of power and 700Nm of torque, and a 70kWh battery pack.
