Ford GT roars around the Nurburgring – video

The Blue Oval's supercar has hit the iconic German circuit for the first time. Could Ford be chasing a record?

Ford GT has been spotted doing rounds at the Nurburgring for the first time, despite the company previously saying it would not be chasing lap records with its flagship supercar.

The blue vehicle appears to be stock – or close to it – and wears a UK registration plate. According to overseas reports, this is the same GT that visited the Goodwood Festival of Speed last month.

Motor Authority received confirmation from Ford itself the vehicle was indeed company-owned, but the spokesperson declined to comment on what the supercar was doing there.

While we can't confirm why the GT was at the 'Ring, nor whether the antenna stuck to the roof was being used to record lap times or performance data, we can say that the 3.5-litre twin-turbo Ecoboost V6 sounds pretty damn good.
