Jaguar I-Pace gets five-year warranty – UPDATE

British EV also scores five years of roadside assistance and extended service plan.

Jaguar Australia has announced the I-Pace electric SUV will be backed by a five-year/200,000km warranty Down Under when it arrives in local showrooms in November, bolstered by extended servicing and roadside assistance programs.

On top of the five-year factory cover, Jaguar says the I-Pace's battery pack is also covered by an eight-year, 160,000 kilometre warranty.

It's the first time the British marque has offered a warranty program longer than three years – currently, the rest of the range is covered for three years/100,000km (whichever comes first).

We've reached out to Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) Australia for clarification on whether it plans to offer the extended warranty across its combustion-powered range. We'll update when we get a response.

The I-Pace will hit showrooms in November, with pricing to kick off at $119,000 before on-road costs. Four trim levels will be offered at launch – S, SE, HSE and a special First Edition model.

Regardless of grade chosen, the I-Pace is powered by a dual-motor electric drive system with total outputs of 294kW and 696Nm, good for a 0-100 time of 4.8 seconds (claimed).

Thanks to its 90kWh lithium-ion battery pack, the I-Pace claims a driving range of up to 470km per charge, and can be recharged to 80 per cent capacity in 40 minutes using a 100kW charge point.
