Rimac C_Two California revealed for Monterey Car Week

All-electric hypercar gets new design touches for high-end car event.

Rimac Automobili has revealed a special version of its C_Two hypercar, dubbed the 'California', for Monterey Car Week.

Distinguishing features include a special bright blue paint job, a unique set of alloy wheels, and a pair of custom champagne bottle holders designed to hold Methusaleh six-litre bottles, with matching flutes.

Other than that, this particular example bound for Monterey is a 'standard' C_Two, meaning its quad electric motor setup offers 1408kW of power and 2300Nm of torque, making for a claimed 1.97-second sprint from 0-100.

Top speed is rated at 412km/h, while the C_Two's 120kWh lithium-ion battery pack is good for up to 650km of range per charge – which can be replenished to 80 per cent capacity in just 30 minutes using a 250kW fast charger.

According to overseas reports, the 150-unit production run for the electric hypercar is almost sold out, priced from around US$2 million ($2.72m).

If that already wasn't a lot of money, Rimac's sales boss, Kreso Coric, told the UK's Autocar that the average customer adds a further £450,000 ($789,090) in options to their C_Two – sheesh!
