Pininfarina PF0 interior and exterior teased

Luxurious, but pared back, interior of design company's first own-brand vehicle revealed

With the unveiling of the PF0 just days away, Pininfarina has unveiled one final set of teasers for its first own-brand vehicle.

The sketches give us a better idea of the car's exterior design, and our first look at the car's cabin, which is a stripped back space with what appears to be luxury-inspired trimmings.

There are two screens flanking the car's steering wheel, with a smaller display ahead of the driver showing speed and next-turn instructions.

Only two buttons have been revealed so far — a driving mode selector on the left, and a single transmission button on the right — although we expect more physical controls to turn up on the steering wheel and lower dashboard.

At an event in New York, the company explained its connection with the USA. In the 1920s, Battista Pininfarina toured Ford's facilities in Detroit, where he was reportedly offered the role of chief stylist by Henry Ford.

Instead of taking up that role, Pininfarina and his company designed cars for many manufacturers, including Lancia, Ferrari and now defunct American car maker Nash.

Although full details for the PF0 have yet to be released, we know it will have a top speed in excess of 400km/h, and a range of around 500km.

The company has set a production of cap 150 units for the PF0, with each one hand-made at its production facilities in Cambiano, Italy. The first vehicles are due to roll off the line in 2020.

The PF0 will be unveiled on August 23, US time, during the Monterey Car Week.

Pininfarina has been majority owned by Mahindra & Mahindra since late 2015.
