Poll: 2018 Toyota HiLux facelift is on the money

This week, it's a compact SUV head-to-head.

The fresh-faced 2018 Toyota HiLux SR and SR5 represent an improvement over the cars they replace, according to our latest Facebook poll.

A handy 59 per cent of respondents favoured the new look, which has been inspired by the Rogue and Rugged special editions launched earlier this year. Along with its fresh face, the HiLux has gained a manual DPF regeneration switch for the second half of the year.

Power still comes from a 2.8-litre turbo-diesel four-cylinder engine making 130kW and 420Nm, hooked up to a six-speed manual or six-speed torque converter transmission.

THIS WEEK'S POLL

Hyundai has given the Kona line-up a tweak this week, adding a new entry-level Go to the range and bumping the Highlander's price to almost $40,000 before on-roads. Would you take the Hyundai over Toyota's style-focused C-HR?

Facebook is doing silly things with its embedded media, as the poll options are no longer appearing above. For now, if you'd like to vote, head to our Facebook post. Otherwise, stay tuned for the results next week.
