Project WTF-2J, episode 3: What 1/4mi time can a stock boost supra run? The search for 10s!

Off to the drag strip!

It was time to head out to see what our new 2J could do. I took the task of clearing out anything unnecessary in the Supra. An old Japanese car you buy sight unseen is like a treasure hunt, but a treasure hunt where you should definitely wear gloves.

I managed to find a Turkish coin, a few strange 3D-printed objects and of course an inflatable pillow with a condom in it. (Ewww... - Ed.)

With the random contents of the Supra removed and promptly thrown in the bin, and drag radials bolted up, we set out for Queensland Raceway.

With the freshly-fitted drag radials, it was time to line up and set a time! Generally, you'd like the car to be as stock as possible for this. Even though our Supra has had a single turbo conversion done, it is still running stock boost and mostly stock supporting mods.

It was a busy night at the drags, so we only managed to get two decent runs in. The mostly stock 2JZ inside WTF-2J managed to spin the drag radials and put on a bit of a smoke show!

All in all, it was a successful night. We managed to not break WTF-2J and also had the chance to prove that all Supras can run 12s! Check out our video below to see WTF-2J in action.
