But details about how it'll look are hard to come by. We'll be eagerly waiting for September 17.

A new Ferrari supercar is set for launch in September, potentially with a roofless body and power from the 812 Superfast.

The reveal will take place in Maranello, Italy on September 17, while the invitation bears the name 'Icona Ferrari'. The car appears to have the codename F176, while scuttlebutt has suggested it'll be based on the 812 Superfast.

To us that means it's likely to be some kind of one-off, potentially developed for a particularly picky customer by the Special Project division. Alternatively, it could be commemorating an anniversary of some kind, like the F12 Berlinetta-based F60 America.

Ferrari owners are able to get more details about the car through a special website, but you need a login to access them. We're working on that one, and there's no guarantee it'll reveal anything new.

Stay tuned for more details on the F176.
