2018 Mazda CX-5 diesel, CX-8 recalled

When the engine doesn't restart, you've got a problem.

Mazda has recalled diesel CX-5 and CX-8 models over concerns the engine might not restart when it's switched off.

According to the company, the problem can leave owners stranded in a car that won't start, posing a hazard to both themselves and other road users.

A total of 131 cars, sold between April 24 and May 28, 2018, are included in the campaign. A VIN list is attached here.

Mazda will contact owners of the affected vehicles and tell them to contact a dealer for a free inspection and fix.
