2019 Fiat 500X teased

Facelifted crossover previewed in partial image posted by Italian website.

The updated Fiat 500X has been teased in a shadowy image posted by Autoblog.it, giving us an early glimpse of what to expect from the model's mid-life facelift.

It appears the new 500X will draw heavily from the latest Fiat 500 in terms of design, getting similar headlight, fog-light and LED daytime-running light treatments as its smaller stablemate.

The headlights now have an elliptical shape with an LED signature strongly resembling an eye, circular LED daytime-running lights around the indicators, and a subtly revised fascia.

Recent spy images of camouflaged prototypes also indicate that the new 500X will sport revised bumpers, new tail-lights, and new alloy wheel designs.

Other changes are expected to include a new steering wheel an updated infotainment system, along with revisions to cabin trims and upholsteries.

Finally, the updated 500X should also get some new engines as per its twin-under-the-skin, the Jeep Renegade. Headlining the new powertrain family are a pair of turbocharged petrol engines, the first being an 88kW 1.0-litre unit and the second being a 1.3-litre available in 112kW and 134kW tunes.

Considering parent Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) has decided to skip the Paris motor show in October, it's unclear exactly when the new 500X will be officially unveiled.
