2019 Skoda Karoq Sportline revealed
New variant debuts 140kW petrol engine for Karoq range, scheduled to debut in Paris.
Skoda has revealed the sportier new Karoq Sportline ahead of a public debut at the Paris motor show in October.
Unveiled shortly after the more rugged Scout variant, the Sportline is very much a shrunken version of the Kodiaq Sportline, wearing more aggressive bumpers and side skirts, new 18- and 19-inch alloy wheel options, along with contrasting black elements.
Other upgrades include the sports seats trimmed in air-permeable 'Thermoflux' fabric, perforated leather for the steering wheel with silver stitching, LED ambient interior lighting, stainless steel pedals, black headliner and black roof pillars.
Additionally, the Karoq Sportline offers an additional display mode for the optional digital instrument binnacle, in the form of an Audi S/RS-style central rev counter with digital speed readout (pictured above).
The Sportline package can be had with a range of turbocharged petrol and diesel engines, including a new 140kW 2.0 TSI petrol that is exclusive to the Karoq Sportline.
Other powertrains available include a 110kW 2.0 TDI, a 140kW 2.0 TDI, and a 110kW 1.5 TSI. Depending on the engine chosen, the Karoq Sportline is fitted with a six-speed manual or seven-speed DSG, with front- and all-wheel drive also dependent on the powertrain.
Australia
Earlier this week, Skoda's local manager for corporate communications, Paul Pottinger, told CarAdvice the Australian arm would be favouring the Sportline over the Scout for the Karoq line-up Down Under, though couldn't confirm if and when we'll see the Sportline here.
We've reached out again regarding local availability and launch timing, and will update when we get a response.
