Seat Leon ST Cupra Carbon Edition revealed for the UK

Limited-run sportswagon gets carbon-fibre add ons and extra kit, but don't expect to see it Down Under.

Seat has revealed the Leon ST Cupra Carbon Edition for the UK, sporting unique enhancements over the 'standard' hot wagon on which it's based.

Limited to just 50 units in Britain, the Carbon Edition draws upon the 300PS (221kW) all-wheel drive Leon ST Cupra wagon – itself based on the hi-po Volkswagen Golf R – and adds niceties like carbon-fibre finishes for the side blades along with the front and rear bumpers.

There's also high-performance Brembo brakes sitting behind the new 19-inch alloy wheels, 'CUPRA' script on the quad-tipped exhaust system, and 'CUPRA' front bucket seats on the inside.

In terms of available paint finishes, there's only one: Monsoon Grey.

"Following the success of the special edition CUPRA R, we know that there is demand for limited-run models from customers looking for something truly special," said Richard Harrison, managing director for Seat's UK division.

"The Leon ST CUPRA Carbon Edition doesn’t only deliver stunning and unique looks, but we believe the enhanced performance and competitive price will be a real draw." Pricing kicks off at £35,575, or $63,070 with current exchange rates – eesh!

Australia

Considering the Volkswagen Group's local division doesn't plan on brining the Seat brand back to our market anytime soon, it's unlikely we'll see the Carbon Edition, or any Leon Cupra variant for that matter, in Australia for the time being.
