Mercedes-AMG GT 63 4-door hits the Nurburgring – video

Listen to the new performance model's twin-turbo V8 sing in this new YouTube clip.

The Mercedes-AMG GT 63 S 4-door (breathes deeply) is the second standalone model to be launched under Benz's performance arm, and now we have vision of some early examples roaring around the Nurburgring circuit in Germany.

Powered by a 4.0-litre bi-turbo V8 making a stonking 470kW of power and 900Nm of torque, put to a rear-biased 4Matic+ all-wheel drive system via a nine-speed automatic transmission, the GT 4-door is a seriously powerful beast.

Combined with its 3.2-second 0-100 sprint claim, and 315km/h top speed rating, it looks pretty good on paper – but what does all that grunt sound like? Well, Automotive Mike on YouTube has the answer, and it's rather rumbly:

The AMG GT 4-door range is scheduled to launch in Australia during the second quarter of 2019. Three variants are offered globally – AMG 53, AMG 63, and AMG 63 S – though it's unclear at this stage if all three will make it Down Under.
