Poll: 2019 Toyota Supra takes down its BMW twin

This week: Are you a fan of the A-Class Sedan?

The new Toyota Supra and BMW Z4 might have been developed in tandem, but our audience has a clear preference for the rear-drive Toyota.

A handy 63 per cent of voters favoured the Supra over the Z4, albeit in pre-production camouflage. Both will be offered with a choice of four- or six-cylinder petrol engines, and both will be rear-wheel drive, but Toyota and BMW are adamant each will have its own character when they launch.

On the Japanese side of things, we know the Supra will be just a rigid as the legendary Lexus LFA. Based on the camouflaged car shown off at Goodwood, the car will be squat and compact, with styling inspired by the FT-1 Concept.

The Z4, on the other hand, will be based on the Z4 Concept revealed last year. Based on our pre-production drive of the M40i, it should be more of a sports car than the boulevardier it replaces, not that our poll respondents seemed to care. 15-0, Toyota.

THIS WEEK'S POLL

The Mercedes-Benz A-Class Sedan has divided opinion in our comments section, with readers unsure whether it's a drop-dead gorgeous interpretation of the hatchback's looks, or a droopy mess. What do you think?

UPDATE: It looks like Facebook is doing silly things with its embedded media, as the poll options are no longer appearing above. For now, if you'd like to vote, head to our Facebook post. Otherwise, stay tuned for the results next week.
