2019 Lexus RC facelift, RC F GT spied

Revised RC coupe, and hotter RC F variant being prepared

The facelifted Lexus RC has been spied undergoing testing in Germany in both F-Sport and F GT guise.

Up front on the volume-selling RC F-Sport we can see a new fascia incorporating a redesigned spindle grille, and a new set of headlights.

Thanks to all that camouflage tape, it's hard to see the final design of these new headlight units, but they seem to feature a stacked set of lights along their outer edges. Driving lights, which are usually styled like Nike's swoosh mark, are probably hidden underneath the disguise.

At the back, the tail-lights have been redesigned, with the outboard units significantly taller than the ones fitted to today's car. The new rear bumper also features a smaller set of side vents, and a revised lower section.

Accompanying the F-Sport is a prototype seemingly based on the 2015 RC F GT Concept. Like the concept car, this prototype has a vented carbon-fibre bonnet, a large rear wing, and a more prominent rear diffuser.

There's also a new more aggressive front bumper design, but the production car looks set to miss out on the concept's bolt-on wheel arch extensions.

No word yet on whether this car will have an uprated 5.0-litre V8 engine, which in the standard RC F makes 351kW of power and 530Nm of torque.
