Here’s your chance to be a motoring journalist for a day

We're sending 5 CarAdvice readers to a Mazda launch event in Tasmania

Ever wondered what it would be like to attend a car launch? Would you like to drive some of the country’s finest driving roads? Read on to find out more.

UPDATE, 22/08The winners have now been selected and notified. Congratulations to the following CarAdvice readers, who are heading to Tasmania on September 5th courtesy of Mazda.

  • David Malins
  • Glenn Frisch
  • Michelle Izzard
  • Peter Young
  • Stuart Bullock

Thanks to everyone who entered. We had a lot of fantastic submissions, and it was difficult to choose just five winners. We'll be contacting all other entrants regarding some other upcoming opportunities.

To everyone else, please stay tuned to CarAdvice.com for information on future events and opportunities.

At CarAdvice we have a very active community of readers, who love to get involved in our content. We love having reader involvement as well – it’s a great way to get opinions and input from our valued community, and feedback from you on the vehicles we're testing.

Every week, we receive some great owner reviews from readers who take the time to tell us about their own car ownership experience, and we've been keeping an eye on these reviews as a way to spot talent. Recently, we've loaned some of these readers our CarAdvice owned cars for review such as our S1 and our Abarth 595, and some have also been put in press cars, all to bring you the best variety of perspectives on today's new cars.

We’ve also been running reader events, such as garage open days, to help lift the veil on what we do at CarAdvice and invite you into our offices to touch and feel the cars we have in the garage. This has been hugely popular, and you'll be reading soon about our plans for more events in the future.

Now, thanks to Mazda, we're offering five readers the chance to attend a launch event for a newly-updated Mazda model at the luxurious Piermont Retreat in Tasmania.

By attending this event, you will be among the first in Australia to drive the new model, on some of the country's finest driving roads. You'll meet the team from Mazda, learn about the new vehicle, get an insider's view of how we test vehicles at launch, and be asked to share your thoughts and opinions with the CarAdvice audience.

So, if you fancy yourself a budding motoring journalist, or simply fancy the idea of spending a few quality days in Tasmania driving cars with like-minded people, this is your chance.

To be in the running, you first need to submit an owner review on CarAdvice.

If you've previously submitted an owner review, just include a link to that review in your application.

To be eligible, you must have a full and valid Australian driver’s licence (not probationary) and you must be available to take a couple of days off work and attend this event in Tasmania on Sept 5 and 6. Flights leave from either Sydney, Melbourne or Brisbane, so you will need to be able to make your own way to one of these airports in order to attend.

Flights, meals and accommodation are all provided, courtesy of Mazda. You just need to bring yourself and be ready to drive the cars and tell us what you think of them.

If you are interested in participating in this event, please send an email to social@caradvice.com.au and include the following:

  • Your phone number
  • A copy of both sides of your driver’s licence
  • 100 words or less telling us why you should be chosen to attend this event
  • Be sure to include a link to your owner review (if already published) or the details of your owner review (if submitted but not yet published).

That’s it. Pretty simple. If you are keen, get on board!

Entries close Monday, August 13th.
