2019 Lamborghini Aventador SVJ confirmed, teased

Hot new variant of Lamborghini's top bull is on its way

The Lamborghini Aventador SVJ has been teased blasting around the Nurburgring, confirming one detail, but leaving so many others up in the air.

Many have speculated the Italian marque would bring the Jota name back for a hardcore version of the Aventador, which has been spied multiple times during development.

The teaser video's title and end tag, "Aventador SVJ meets the Nurburgring", confirms the rumour, as J is pronounced "jota" in Spanish.

Despite the military-style camouflage used on the prototype in the video, we can see the SVJ has simpler front bumper design, as well as a more prominent chin spoiler. There's also a large, fixed rear wing, and super grippy tyres.

Spy photos have shown a radically redesigned rear fascia, with a diffuser the size of the Great Australian Bight, and a set of exhaust tips mounted closer to the tail-lights than the ground.

Much else we don't know, but given past Jota models, we expect the Aventador SVJ to be both lighter and more powerful.

Currently, the Aventador S is powered by a 544kW/690Nm 6.5-litre naturally-aspirated V12 engine, and paired with an all-wheel drive system and a seven-speed independent shift rod transmission.

With a dry weight of 1575kg, the Aventador S is capable of dispatching the 0-100km/h standard in 2.9 seconds, hitting 200km/h within 8.8s, and blasting through 300km/h by the 24.2 second mark. Top speed is said to be 350km/h.

Reports indicate the SVJ may have close to 600kW of power on tap. Regardless, a list price of over $800,000 is almost certain when it hits Aussie shores.
