2019 Mitsubishi Outlander revealed

Updated crossover surfaces on local website with minor styling tweaks.

The facelifted Mitsubishi Outlander has quietly been revealed on the company's Australian website, complete with drive-away pricing for the updated range.

UPDATE, 2/8/18: Mitsubishi Australia has released official pricing and specification details for the MY19 Outlander range. Full details here.

Cosmetic changes are relatively minor, with the medium SUV scoring a revised grille and bumper treatment up front, new alloy wheels, a updated rear bumper, darker tail-lights, and a bigger roof-mounted spoiler on the top-spec Exceed model. The Exceed also scores new auto-levelling LED headlights and fog-lights.

Inside, there's revised switchgear on the centre console and a new steering wheel going by the limited imagery on the local website. The 7.0-inch media system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto doesn't appear to get any updates.

As before there are three trim levels with three different powertrain options depending on spec, along with the choice front- or all-wheel drive, and five or seven seats.

The range kicks off with the ES, joined by the ES ADAS (safety pack), the LS, and the Exceed. The ES remains the sole variant available with a five-speed manual, along with the smaller capacity 110kW/190Nm 2.0-litre naturally-aspirated petrol engine and front-wheel drive.

Meanwhile, the wider line-up is available with a carryover 124kW/220Nm 2.4-litre naturally-aspirated petrol hooked up to a CVT auto with either front- or all-wheel drive, along with a 110kW/360Nm 2.2-litre turbo-diesel mated to a six-speed auto and all-wheel drive.

The plug-in hybrid Outlander PHEV range is yet to receive the same visual refresh, though it has been previewed by the overseas version that was revealed in February ahead of the Geneva motor show complete with an upgraded powertrain.

Earlier this week the company's local boss, John Signoriello, said the release of the refreshed hybrid variant is "a matter of when" for our market – seemingly confirming the 2019 PHEV for an Australian release at some point.

In terms of standard equipment, the MY19 Outlander appears to be largely unchanged from the MY18.5 range that went on sale at the end of November last year, though we've reached out to Mitsubishi Australia for clarification.

Going by the company's local website, the MY19 Outlander is priced at $27,990 drive-away for the five-seat ES front-wheel drive manual, climbing to $47,990 drive-away for the seven-seat Exceed diesel all-wheel drive.
