Nissan Titan XD Surfcamp one-off revealed

Diesel dual-cab is ready for action by the water, whatever you're into.

Nissan has continued its love for rough-and-ready one-off specials in the USA, turning the Titan XD into a surfer's wet dream.

Based on the Titan XD Diesel Midnight Edition Crew Cab, the Surfcamp is powered by a 5.0-litre Cummins diesel engine producing 231kW and 750Nm.

The surf-ready special rides on a three-inch lift kit and 17-inch Icon wheels wrapped in Nitto Ridge Grappler tyres. As you can probably tell, the front bumper has been replaced with a tougher aftermarket unit.

Perhaps most eye-catching, though, is the 'JNC Surf Patrol' livery – inspired by the 1967 Nissan Patrol, along with a Hot Wheels 1971 Datsun Bluebird Wagon.

Down back, the bed is home to storage for your boards and fishing rods, and there's a pop-out awning with a built-in shower to wash off all the salt and sand. Atop the awning is a pop-up tent, while the tray is home to a chunky esky to keep your drinks cool.

"In the summer, beach parking lots are full of trucks hauling surfboards, fishing rods, boats and campers as people crave the sun and sand," said Fred DePerez, vice president of Nissan North America's LCV unit.

"Inspired by the vintage beach trucks of the 1960s, Titan Surfcamp is a celebration of the beach truck tradition with all the modern technologies Titan customers want when they head out to surf, shore fish and camp-out by the water."
