2019 Audi TT RS spied

Refreshed performance coupe spotted in Southern Europe.

The updated Audi TT RS has been spied again, this time during hot weather testing ahead of an anticipated launch later this year.

It appears this mid-life facelift will be a rather mild procedure, limited to some revisions to the grille and bumpers, though those details are currently concealed by swirly black-and-white camouflage.

Key differences include the refreshed front bumper design and different side skirts compared to the vehicle currently on sale. Other than that, however, the changes appear to be quite minor in terms of the overall design – on this prototype, at least.

We're also expecting an upgrade on the technology front, bringing Audi's latest infotainment software and the availability of the company's latest driver assistance systems.

In terms of the powertrain, it's unclear whether Audi will extract more than the 294kW and 480Nm currently on offer from the TT RS's 2.5-litre five-cylinder turbo, especially given the new restrictions being imposed by the latest WLTP emissions-testing regime.

The new TT range is believed to be prepping for a reveal later this year, though Audi is yet to confirm when we'll see the updated sports car.
